Vaginas Often Smell Bad
an essay by Daphne
Let’s be honest.
Vagina doesn’t typically smell great. It’s a notion lost on certain levels of modern liberal class and culture, worth acknowledging.
Why is it worth acknowledging?
Well, we seem to have a cultural complex of worshiping the female genitalia above all other concepts of personhood. Do you have an in-port? Great—your opinions matter.
Unless you fail to wash it, then it’s smelly and gross.
We have to be honest. It’s crucial that we value honesty. You see, if we don’t, we’re placating the intellectual rapists of our time: women with smelly vaginas who have deemed it an irreparably sexist notion to acknowledge the general discordance found between the human olfactory senses and a vagina that has not been rigorously scrubbed with well-lathered soap.
This is for everyone. Trust me.
Even I, a transgender woman with a daughter who is cherished above all others; their mental and physical well-being held above that of all other human beings; wishing most to leave the future-born sexual functions and proclivities of my growing spawn wholly unacknowledged, can still admit this as a fact of nature.
Please understand there is nothing more disgustingly obtuse to my senses than the unkempt, unwashed body odor of a male body. I cannot even fathom how horrifying their genitalia are up close. So, I implore you not to lob mental accusations of sexism at me.
The universe is of great balance; you see. There is not one brand of human genitalia that is less horrifying than the other, and our modern ideals are training people to think one is cool and hot, and definitely not gross, while the other is repulsive.
You see, giving head is hot. And giving your whole face to women is cool.
Unless you have a nose unriddled with congestion and eyeballs connected to a fully functioning frontal cortex. In that case, you may find yourself speaking sacrilege in the private space of your mind.
I beg you; listen to the voice that persists in you quiet, inner spaces.
How much do you posit, truly, in the private corners of your mind, that you wish to smush another’s genitals into your mouth? How deeply do you desire your nose getting squished between the upper folds of a secreting orifice between the legs of a sweaty woman who has been using the same space to congeal sweat and piss through all day? How hot is that? Alternatively, how much do you desire to fight off gag reflexes and vomiting on the genitals of your man stallion—regardless of his or their ability to cultivate an abdomen-based gutter system?
You see, the world is full of pretense. We all need to shower more. There is much sweat to go around. And people love doing gross things for the sexual satisfaction of pushing themselves beyond the controlling notions of their minds. It helps one release to get beyond blocks. Perhaps, this is no more apparent than with the obsession with giving head as cool.
It is most often a demeaning act. From my experience—disempowering—and the denial of truth regarding the inherent icky nature of the female-born genitals is pushing youngsters to deny their inherent sexuality, worship women, and deny the truth.
Still, everyone has their kinks. Right?
Of course we do. Yes… of course we do. Unless we are all failing to see how we demean ourselves because we are unhappy and lying with people we do not want—in ways we’d rather not—because it’s convenient and a cultural expectation that makes us feel validated.
I will digress and confess; once upon a time I was quite prideful about my ability to give face. I thought it was hot and cool. And you can bet, at that time, I was once the first to go downtown despite my worries about cleanliness and smells.
Once, a long time ago, I had the boldness to tell someone I slept with that I hadn’t enjoyed giving them head because it was too smelly in that instance. I mentioned how important showers were for me to have a willingness to please them in that way.
What I received in response was no less than a barrage of the sadsies.
You see, they were a woman. And it is sexist, mean, and uncool to think that vaginas can smell bad sometimes.

What I've heard is that it's prounounced amongst vagina-havers the consciousness about said smells, to such a degree they won't even let their partners do anything to them UNLESS they've just come from the shower. Like this is a hindrance in many relationships. I couldn't immediately find a clear-enough source for this, but I used to read articles on sexual topics more frequently. But you have your experiences.
