Honest Question for People Who Might Be Interested in Helping Me
how can this not be something we care about?
I hope you are doing well. I am reaching out to share my current work, my situation, and a request for support or connections as I navigate a critical transition.
First, I would love for you to take a look at my concepts and research when you have a moment:
My Current Situation
I am a heartful trans mother currently experiencing severe PTSD, cognitive challenges, and homelessness following a prolonged period of deep personal trauma and abuse. Math, complex bureaucracy, and heavy organization are currently disabling for me to handle alone.
I am currently staying at the Crisis Solutions Center in the Central District, but my stay is short-term (16 days), and I am struggling to navigate the overwhelming system without supportive friends or advocates.
Priority Needs
I am working through a heavy list of urgent requirements and need guidance or direct assistance with:
Vital Documents & Benefits: Obtaining an ID, Cash Assistance, and Food Assistance.
Healthcare: A Primary Care Provider for gender-affirming prescriptions, a dental center that accepts patients without funds, and a clinical psychiatrist/brain scan for diagnostic evaluation.
Housing & Safety: Transitioning to a long-term shelter, finding stable employment, and eventually securing my own housing.
Legal Support: Assistance regarding bankruptcy, parental rights, ADA/Olmstead claims, and Disability Rights under the Vulnerable Adult Protection Act.
Support Animal: Emotional support animal adoption through the Humane Society.
How You Can Help
If you know any advocates, legal professionals, or supportive people who are patient and understanding with trauma and brain injury survivors, please consider passing my story along to them.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Warmly,
Daphne
