War on Heaven

Daphne

One

Theodore; the Apollo

Olympus burned. Sirens of North, East, and South sang about times to come where the insanity of mankind upon Earth would find its pyre for making hasteful surrenders.

“Time is short, Theodore,” was all Daphne told, when she last spoke.

Now, she simply stood stilted in silence; Daphne scowled, brooding in preeminence; reflecting a fury of knowing cradled within those deepest folds of Theodore himself. Daphne’s sycamore—she had told him—was lit by her own hands and spoke in spurted but furious crackling, almost sparking vision itself inside Theodore’s mind. His inner eye gaped at the whims of her righteous and wicked doings upon Olympus alike.
